Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj, Whose Beats?

I have a tendency of listening to a couple of tracks, more especially those popular ones with music videos, and not the entire album. I don’t know why, and I’m probably not the only one who does that. That I’m sure of, LOL. Last night, I decided to do things a lil different. I listened to Jason Derulo’s latest album and I just couldn’t help but notice the beats on his “How Did We” track. When it started I expected to hear Nicki Minaj’s voice, but unfortunately I was quickly shot down. Am I possibly imagining things or are these beats really similar? I even blogged about Nicki Minaj’s “Your Love” track just the other day.

Well, what can I say? Nicki Minaj has done it again. This time, with your bwoi Trey. Who would have though mara? But then again, she’s in almost every music video I know to date. Ought to give it to her nonetheless.

(Okay! So it’s Trey Songz’s video but here am I going on and on about Nicki, LOL) Anyway, I wrote a feature of Trey Songz’s “Yo Side Of The Bed” video a while ago but unfortunately it ended up being blocked (viewers in SAfrica) for ‘copyright reasons’. Well, let’s just hope this one doesn’t follow, hehe!

Just noticed that I’ve been posting a lot of entries pertaining to either Eminem or Nicki Minaj lately. You have got to give it to them – they be making headlines. Anyway, back to today’s video. Most of you probably know the song and not the video. I was one of y’all, until last night. Apparently “I Love They Way You Lie” is all about domestic violence (you can read about all this and more here). Knew that?

Checkout her latest video. What do you think? Well, I like the fact that she has taken a different approach – the creativity and analogy as compared to her previous tracks. Don’t get me wrong, I like the all loud Nicki (Knockout for instance), but I think I like this too. Is there possibly aything not to love about this chick mara? Damn!
